UW-Fond du Lac announces its annual pre-season ticket sale for 2007-08 University Performing Arts Series

Pre-season tickets packages are now on sale for the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac’s 2007-08 Performing Arts Series which begins on Oct. 19 with the Chamber Singers Anniversary concert.

Two special value ticket package options are available. The first option includes five performances and two concert and dessert shows for $50, a savings of $14 compared to purchasing tickets individually. The second option includes five performances and two dinner shows for $75, a savings of $21. Pre-season ticket package sales end on Oct. 19.

Two dinner shows were offered for the first time last spring and were sell outs. The dinner shows return again in 2008, and a second performance, a dessert only evening has been added. Desserts and dinners are prepared by Linstrom’s Catering.

Tickets can be purchased in person Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., in the UW-Fond du Lac Business Office or by phone with a credit card at (920) 906-6350. All seating is reserved with advance purchase and groups wishing to be seated together should purchase tickets at the same time.

Reserved seating tickets for each individual event in the series can also be purchased now at regular prices. Dinner and dessert shows require advance purchase and will not be sold at the door. Tickets for individual performance events will be sold at the door for $2 more if available, but will be general admission seating.

The 2007-08 UW-Fond du Lac Performing Arts Series line-up includes:

Chamber Singers Anniversary Concert, Oct. 19, 7:30 p.m., Prairie Theater - Literature from all eras including folk and classic in addition to audience favorites from previous concerts will be performed. Individual tickets are adults $6, area students $3, UW-Fond du Lac students free.

“Proof” by David Auburn, Nov. 7-10 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 10 & 11 at 2 p.m., Prairie Theater - The UW-Fond du Lac Theater Department presents this Fond du Lac premiere. Catherine spent years caring for her brilliant, but unstable father, a famous mathematician. She now must attempt to resolve familial conflicts and both humorous and romantic entanglements. Production includes adult language and content. Individual tickets are adults $10, all students $5, UW-Fond du Lac students attend opening night free.

UW-Fond du Lac Music Department Holiday Concert, Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m., Prairie Theater - Readings and Carols for the season featuring Fond du Lac Chamber Singers, UW-Fond du Lac Chorus, U-FiDeLity (vocal jazz ensemble). Individual tickets are adults $6, area students $3, UW-Fond du Lac students free.

“Put a Little Love in Your Heart”, Feb. 15 & 16, University Center Commons - Fond du Lac Chamber Singers and U-FideLity sing love songs from the Renaissance, Classic, Romantic, Jazz and Popular Times.

Feb. 15 – Concert and Dessert, 7:30 p.m. – an assortment of sweets served at your table. Individual tickets are adults and area students $10, UW-Fond du Lac students $6.

Feb. 16 – Dinner Show, 6:00 p.m. – a buffet of Chef Linstrom’s favorites. Individual tickets are adults and area students $22, UW-Fond du Lac students $16.

“The Roommate” by Jeremy Motz, Mar. 5-8 at 7:30 p.m., Mar. 8 & 9 at 2 p.m., Prairie Theater – The UW-Fond du Lac Theater Department presents a Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival award winning play. What is a roommate? A friend? A confidant? A servant? A hilarious and sometimes dark look at the “art” of roommate management. Production includes adult language and content. Individual tickets are adults $10, all students $5, UW-Fond du Lac students attend opening night free.

Calmus Ensemble-Vocal Group from Leipzig Germany, Apr. 9, 7:30 p.m., University Center Commons - These five talented German singers are at home with all styles of music. Not limiting themselves to traditional a cappella music, the program includes a wide variety of music from madrigals to pop songs in both English and German texts. Individual tickets are adults $12, area students $9, UW-Fond du Lac students free.

Arias and Candlelight, Apr. 25 & 26, University Center Commons - An elegant evening of light opera solos and choruses by Fond du Lac Chamber Singers and guest soloists.

Apr. 25 – Concert and Dessert, 7:30 p.m. – An assortment of sweets served by candlelight at your table. Individual tickets are adults and area students $10, UW-Fond du Lac students $6.

Apr. 26 – Dinner Show, 6:00 p.m. - An evening of elegant music and a seven course meal served by candlelight. Individual tickets are adults and area students $30, UW-Fond du Lac students $25.
