UW-Fond du Lac and Marian
University sign Articulation Agreement
Posted 8/14/09 - On Friday, August 14,
representatives of the University of
Wisconsin-Fond du Lac, University of Wisconsin
Colleges and
Marian University signed an articulation
agreement that clarifies transfer of credits
between the institutions.
The agreement provides assurances to students
from the UW Colleges, which includes UW-Fond du
Lac, how their records will transfer. The
UW Colleges is
comprised of 13 freshman/sophomore campuses
serving 13,000 students across the state of
Wisconsin.
Under the agreement, Marian University will
accept up to a maximum of 64 credits in transfer
if the student has completed all requirements
and received an Associate of Arts & Science
degree from UW-Fond du Lac or another University
of Wisconsin Colleges campus. Those students
will have satisfied all Marian University
general education liberal arts core requirements
except the basic Theology requirement.
Neither individual grades for classes nor GPA
will be transferred to Marian, and in certain
programs (e.g., nursing) a minimum grade of “C”
must be achieved for a particular course to
transfer.
“I believe this agreement creates a wonderful
foundation for Marian University and the
University of Wisconsin Colleges to be better
neighbors and partners in the education of
Wisconsin citizens. It is an exciting
opportunity that has been long in coming,” says
Dr. Daniel Maloney, provost at Marian
University.
Sister Mary Mollison, president of Marian
University, stated, “We are delighted by the
cooperative spirit of Dr. Greg Lampe, Dean
Goldsmith, faculty and staff at the University
of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac and Marian University.”
“This agreement between the UW Colleges and
Marian University will provide UW Colleges
students across Wisconsin wishing to pursue a
bachelor’s degree with another viable option for
transfer,” stated Dr. Greg Lampe, provost,
University of Wisconsin Colleges.
This is the first time an institution-wide
agreement has been reached between Marian and
the University of Wisconsin Colleges.
