Regents freeze UW-Fond du
Lac tuition rate for upcoming year
Posted 7/9/2009 – For the third consecutive
year, University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac
students will see
tuition
costs at 2006 rates when they pay their tuition
bills for the upcoming fall semester.
A tuition freeze for the
UW Colleges
including UW-Fond du Lac was approved by the UW
System Board of Regents at its July meeting in
Madison.
UW System President Kevin P. Reilly’s budget
will freeze tuition for 12,735 resident students
enrolled at 13 freshman-sophomore UW Colleges
campuses across the state.
The
tuition for two semesters at UW-Fond du Lac
will remain at $4,268 for 2009-10. This is
approximately $1,100 less than the four-year
comprehensive campuses, $2,600 less than
UW-Milwaukee and $3,000 less than the tuition at
UW-Madison.
“Maintaining tuition at 2006 rates for the
2009-2010 academic year means that the UW
Colleges will continue to be the most affordable
access point for anyone who wants to start,
continue or complete a degree,” said UW Colleges
and UW-Extension Chancellor David Wilson, who
has spearheaded the push to keep the UW Colleges
affordable, especially in these challenging
economic times.
With this tuition freeze, UW-Fond du Lac will
maintain its long-held reputation as an
affordable choice for incoming students of all
ages who can then complete a baccalaureate
degree at UW-Fond du Lac or at any four-year UW
campus.
Interim CEO and Dean Judy Goldsmith suggests
area students and their families look closely at
the affordability of the UW-Fond du Lac campus
which offers access to a top-quality University
of Wisconsin education in the community.
“Bargains and quality rarely go together, but
they do here at our campus,” said Goldsmith. “In
these stressful economic times, we are
especially happy that there will be no increase
in tuition on our campus this year. An
additional financial benefit for our students is
that they can live at home without the added
cost of room and board.”
UW-Fond du Lac is still accepting
applications for the fall semester. Contact the
