UW-Fond du Lac to hold info sessions on three healthcare test prep programs on Aug. 6
Fond du Lac, Wis.- Learn about three healthcare test prep programs - CMA, Phlebotomy Tech Test Prep and CNA - offered by the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac during an information session at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6 in the Art Building, 400 University Dr., Fond du Lac.
The Clinical Medical Assistant program (CMA) provides the necessary training and skills required to challenge the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination. This is a 140 hour non-credit program. The CCMA certification exam will be held at UW-Fond du Lac after the classroom coursework is completed. This program will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and six Saturdays Sept. 11-Dec. 18, 6-9:30 pm weekdays and 9 am-4:30 pm Saturdays.
The Phlebotomy Tech Test Prep is a 90 hour non-credit exam preparation program that prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will be prepared to sit for the NHA-CPT exam. This exam preparation program also offers a foundation to become American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) Certification. This program will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and two Saturdays Oct. 1-Dec. 19, 6-9:30 pm weekdays and 9 am-3 pm Saturdays.
CNA (HES 150) is a three credit course in which students learn the principles and skills necessary to provide quality resident care. This course prepares students to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam and earn a CNA designation. This course includes classroom, lab practice and clinical experience. Many college of nursing programs require students to have completed a nursing assistant course with clinical component and have a current CNA certificate at time of application. The next CNA course will be offered Mondays-Thursdays Oct. 29-Nov. 30, 5-9 p.m. and clinicals will be Mondays-Thursdays Dec. 3 -13, 5:15-9:15 p.m.
