 Palm Sunday Concert
presented at former St. Patrick’s Church by
UW-Fond du Lac Choral Department

UW-Fond du Lac Choral Department will
present a Palm Sunday Concert of sacred music at
4 p.m. on Sunday, March 28 in the former St.
Patrick’s Church, 41 E. Follett St.
The special sacred concert will feature
“Requiem”, op. 9, by Maurice Duruflé,
commissioned in 1947 by the French music
publisher Durand and written in memory of the
composer's father. The work is for mixed choir
accompanied by organ and will be performed by
the Fond du Lac Chamber Singers accompanied by
organist Tom Klamrowski and Arpad Muryani on
cello with liturgical dance performed by Shut Up
and Dance performers choreographed by Julie
Wilson.
The Chamber Singers is a mix of community
members and UW-Fond du Lac students under the
direction of Patricia Eby, associate campus dean
and music professor. Additional sacred pieces
will be performed by the UW-Fond du Lac Chorus,
also under the direction of Eby, and featuring
tenor soloist Lee Xiong and flautist Samantha
Warnes.
The Palm Sunday concert is being held off
campus to take advantage of the former church
setting for a sacred concert. St. Patrick’s
Church was built in the late 1850s was turned
over to private ownership in July 2007.
“The combination of chamber ensemble, organ
and choral music are perfect for the acoustical
setting the historic church provides,” said Eby.
Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for area
students and free for UW-Fond du Lac students
with ID. They can be purchased at the UW-Fond du
