UW-Fond du Lac to host Wisconsin State Senate race debate on Oct. 30

The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac is hosting a debate between 18th State Senate District candidate Rick Gudex and incumbent State Senator Jessica King, 6:30-8 pm, on Tuesday, Oct. 30 in the LGI room, 400 University Dr.

The debate is being sponsored by the UW-Fond du Lac Student Government Association and will focus on higher education issues. The public is invited and college students are strongly urged to attend.

The moderator is Rosemary Potter, director of government relations for the UW Colleges and UW-Extension, where she is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with local, county, state and federal governments. Potter served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1989 through 1998. She earned her master's degree in political science and a bachelor's degree in fine arts from UW-Milwaukee.

The debate will begin with a two minute opening statement by each candidate followed by questions from the moderator and a few questions chosen at random from the audience. Each candidate will have time for a one minute closing remark.
