UW-Fond du Lac to host a panel discussion on the personal impact of war on Oct. 20

Fond du Lac, Wis.-The public is invited to join the UW-Fond du Lac campus community in a special forum discussion “America’s Wars: The Personal Impact,” noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, in the LGI Room, 400 University Drive. A question and answer session will follow.

Panelists will be current military personnel, area veterans and current and former UW-Fond du Lac students who will share their unique perspectives on wars from World War II to the present. 

The discussion forum is being held as part of UW-Fond du Lac’s yearlong discussion of the personal impact of war coordinated by the Engaging Students in the First Year (ESFY) committee.

Other events include the ongoing Always Lost: A Meditation on War exhibit/memorial displayed in the University Center Commons balcony through Oct. 28; the UW-Fond du Lac Theater Department production of “My Soldiers” Nov. 2-6 in the Prairie Theater; and the common read of the book “The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien.
