UW-Fond du Lac to offer Crisis Communication Workshop
Fond du Lac, Wis. – The Continuing Education Office at the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac is offering a full day crisis communication workshop, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27.
Every organization should expect the unexpected when it comes to communicating during natural disasters, accidents, lawsuits, layoffs, employee misconduct and more. Through this workshop, organizations can be prepared and learn how to stay ahead of communications to ultimately protect their brand.
Led by Lisa Cruz and Karen Schlieve of Red Shoes PR the day will include learning how to prepare for crisis communications, use of social media, preparing for traditional media, the importance of communications sequencing and a closer look at recent case studies. The afternoon will include a representative from a northeast Wisconsin non-profit organization sharing their first-hand experience of communicating through a crisis.
The registration fee is $89 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, all instruction and materials.
Cruz is president of Red Shoes PR and has 17 years of experience in communications, specifically public relations in areas such as crisis communications, social media, internal communications and traditional media relations. Her background includes working for a number of industries which include health care, financial, construction, entertainment, fitness and public affairs.
