Kaplan Award honors
This award honors Arthur M. Kaplan, who retired in 1993 as vice chancellor of the UW Colleges. He was committed to improving the quality of instruction and service to students at the UW Colleges’ campuses.
Two recipients are honored each year at UW-Fond du Lac and recive a $250 stipend which is matched by the UW-Fond du Lac Foundation.
Carolyn Polodna, business professor; Paisley Harris, history professor and Mike Jurmu, geography/geology professor shared one of the awards for their work on the Global Warming Symposium held at the campus in spring of 2008. This two-weekend event featured experts from throughout the state of Wisconsin.
Frances Perkins, communication and theater art professor, was recognized for incorporating the writing and directing of a film into a student learning experience. The film “Test Day” was a unique opportunity for UW-Fond du Lac students to work side-by-side with film industry professionals as cast and crew members.
