We will begin by making a generous array of paste papers and explore the structure of a book as a sculptural object. You will create books incorporating a variety of techniques such as collage, mixed media, writing, drawing and painting. Discover the fun when different disciplines cross paths with book arts (design, printing, sculpture, illustration, photography, etc.) We will explore new directions for favorite structures as well as introduce new concepts and forms. Learn the easiest way to design your own Celtic knot and incorporate it into one of your books. This class is simply TOO MUCH FUN!!! Bring an art shirt or wear clothes suitable for painting. Fee: $79 includes alll materials.

Digital Imaging and Photography

Have you ever noticed that your digital pictures don’t turn out or look nothing like you think they should? Professor Scotello will help you learn to use your camera in conjunction with your computer! Do you have a new digital camera or one that you do not understand the directions for? This class is an introduction to the art of digital imaging. You will learn to use your camera, the basics of composition and the principles of design, and manipulate your images on a computer using digital editing software. Bring your digital camera, USB port, cord, and flash drive. Fee: $69
