Professor Michael Nofz
approaches sociology as a
vehicle for constructive
social criticism. If we look
at things through a
sociological lens, we do not
have to take a “this is just
the way things are” type of
attitude.
Sociology can be used to
point us in better
directions, and show us new
options for how we live. In
this spirit, Michael has
done research in areas of
ethnic relations, consumer
culture, and both the
positive and negative
consequences of modern
technology. He is the author
of several professional
articles and one textbook.
In his spare time, he likes
to get away from the digital
world and carve wood, using
only hand tools.
