ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A
NURSING MAJOR?

UW-Fond du Lac's natural science and liberal arts curriculum provides you with the basic professional skills and knowledge to enroll in a bachelor's degree nursing and/or allied health sciences program, to succeed in the health profession, and to compete successfully in the evolving global environment. This curriculum includes basic skills courses in the sciences, humanities and social sciences leading to a fundamental understanding of health profession functions and to the analytic ability for solving health and medical problems. The course of study provides you with scientific technology, concepts, principles and skills leading to a clear, introductory, pre-professional understanding of the foundation of contemporary health professions. Health science related course work, when combined with UW-Fond du Lac's strong liberal arts curriculum, will provide you with the essentials of applying theoretical knowledge to practice and the spirit of inquiry needed during the first two years of a health professional's education. Your junior and senior years at your transfer institution will be devoted in large part to specialized nursing or allied health professional coursework. You can also prepare to take the test (state boards) to qualify as a registered nurse.
