Diversity Circles Youth
Many tough public issues from crime to racial tension to substance abuse directly involve and affect young people. But too often youth are absent from discussions on these issues. Youth and adults too may have little opportunity to work together on community problems in a positive and respectful way or even work with each other. Diversity circles offer a way to do that.
Many communities are finding ways to bring large numbers of young people into diversity circle programs to address racial issues.
In addition, many colleges and high schools are organizing diversity circles to engage young people in dialogue and problem solving.
Diversity circles provide a process to help build the trusting relationships necessary for long-term change. They bring people from diverse backgrounds and experiences together so they can develop trust, understand each other's experiences, and find ways to work together.

In order to prepare for their future as productive citizens, our Fond du Lac High School students are in need of varied experiences regarding diversity. Diversity Circles offers them an opportunity to broaden their minds and be introduced to new ideas, thoughts and people.
