Counselor's Update
WELCOME BACK!
The UW-Fond du Lac Student Services Office welcomes you to the start of another school year. We hope you had an enjoyable summer and your school year is off to a strong start.
We have always strived to keep you and your students well informed about UW-Fond du Lac. Last year we created our first monthly e-newsletter in an effort to provide you with valuable information in a convenient and concise manner. We will once again continue with this type of newsletter.
We would like to thank all of you for your support and encouragement. You played a major role is helping UW-Fond du Lac achieve a record enrollment for this school year.
John Brown Accepts New Position
As we all know, life has a habit of presenting us with various challenges, as well as opportunities. A recent opportunity has presented itself and I have decided to pursue a new endeavor.
I recently accepted a position at St. Cloud State University and my last day at UW-Fond du Lac will be on September 22.
It has been my privilege to work with all of you over the past six years and I truly cherish the friendships that have developed.
Best of luck to all of you as you embark on another school year. - John Brown
Please join us for the Fall 2006 Counselor’s Update Luncheon October 6, 2006
Be our guests at our annual UW-Fond du Lac Counselor Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 6, from noon until 1:15 pm. The agenda features updates on two hot topics of direct relevance to your students and their families in addition to the news from UW-Fond du Lac.
The UW Colleges’ Financial Aid Director, Marilyn Krump, will provide an overview and good suggestions for preparing your students for eligibility for the new Academic Competitiveness Grants, a federally sponsored program which became available this fall. We will also discuss the UW System’s implementation of a “holistic admissions” policy with an eye toward the possible effect on your students.
You can RSVP online or by calling the Student Services Office at 929-3606. As in the past, the luncheon will be followed by a Fond du Lac Area Counselor’s Association (FACA) meeting.
Please click here to see the invitation, agenda and online RSVP form.
