Counselor's Update
New Assistant Campus Dean
for Student Services Named
After six and a half years as
the Assistant Campus Dean for
Student Services at UW-Fond du
Lac, Linda Reiss retired in
November. The Search Committee
completed their work in
selecting a new person to fill
the role as they considered a
sizeable pool of very qualified
applicants.
We are pleased to announce that
Tom Martin has accepted the
position of Assistant Campus
Dean for Student Services
effective January 7, 2008. Tom
has a long and distinguished
history within the UW System
beginning with his own education
(bachelor’s degree in 1975 and
master’s degree in 1978) at UW
Madison. His first appointment
was at UW Eau Claire and from
there he has been in the UW
Colleges at UW-Sheboygan
followed by his appointment as
the Director of Student Services
and later Assistant Campus Dean
for Student Services at
UW-Baraboo/Sauk County for 15
years.
Tom is currently at the UW
Colleges Institutional Office
where he has been the Training
and Policy Compliance
Coordinator for Financial Aid
for about a year and a half. He
is looking forward to coming
back to a campus and has
expressed his enthusiasm to be
coming to UW-Fond du Lac.
Tom comes to our campus
experienced in student services,
very knowledgeable of the UW
Colleges in general and a
seasoned student advocate.
Please join us in welcoming him
as the new Assistant Campus Dean
for Student Services.

High School Visits
It’s hard to believe my visit to
your high school is just around
the corner! I am looking
forward to visits this spring as
I really enjoyed all the visits
I made in the fall, even though
I wasn’t able to make it to all
of the schools. I will be
contacting your offices soon to
set up dates and times beginning
in mid-February and plan to have
most visits completed by
mid-March.
If you have any questions or
would like to request that I
visit at a certain time, please
feel free to contact me at (920)
929-3609. I look forward to
seeing you all again in the near
future!
