Students Previewed Campus
We had a wonderful response at
the recent Campus Preview with
approximately 175 high school
students and their guests in
attendance – our largest ever!
Students met current faculty,
staff, and students while
touring the campus. Information
on admissions, scholarships and
financial aid was also
presented. Thank you for
encouraging students to visit
campus!
High School Visits
Thank you to all of the high
schools that have given me the
opportunity to visit again this
semester. I have enjoyed
meeting with small groups of
students, in addition to
addressing Junior Assemblies and
being a guest speaker in
classes. If you would like me to
speak to a group of students
(freshmen through seniors) about
planning for life after high
school, please feel free to
contact Melissa Luedtke at (920) 929-1125. I
love speaking with students
about what option is best for
them!
ACT Strategies Course
The last of the ACT Exam
Strategies Preparation courses
offered at UW-Fond du Lac will
begin on May 2. The course is
open to all students who will be
taking the ACT exam whether they
will attend UW-Fond du Lac or a
college elsewhere.
The sessions are taught by
faculty from the UW Colleges. At
the first class meeting of each
session, students will take a
diagnostic test to identify
areas of both strength and need.
The second and third class
meetings will include a review
of the pretest results, English,
reading, writing, math and
science. The last class meeting
will include a mini-test,
wrap-up, and questions.
For more information or to
register for the ACT Exam
Preparation course, go to
http://www.fdl.uwc.edu/ce/youth.html
Placement Test Dates
All incoming UW System
students who have not taken
college level math or English
courses must take a Placement
Test. Dates and times for
placement tests over these next
few months are listed below.
Placement tests provided on
our campus are available to
students who plan to attend
UW-Fond du Lac or another UW
System school. Students are
asked to arrive at least 20
minutes before the noted time to
pay the $25 fee and locate the
test site.
The tests begin promptly at
the time listed below; LATE
ARRIVALS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED
AND MUST TAKE THE TESTS AT A
LATER DATE. Advance registration
for the tests is not
required; rather simply choose
the date and time that fits your
schedule and report for the
tests.

Student Services Team Member Deserves Congratulations!!
You
may recall that last year the
UW-Fond du Lac Student Services
team was selected as the
Outstanding Team in Student
Services in the thirteen UW
Colleges.
This year Robyn French, a member
of the Student Services staff at
UW-Fond du Lac since 2005, was
recently selected by the UW
Colleges as a recipient of the
Outstanding Student Services

2008-2009 year.
This annual award is recognition
from her peers in the thirteen
UW Colleges for the exceptional
service and support she provides
students, the Student Services
Office, the campus, and the UW
Colleges.
Congratulations Robyn French!

Dean Blankenship to Leave UW-Fond du Lac
UW-Fond du Lac Dean and CEO
Daniel
J. Blankenship, Ph.D., has announced he will
be leaving the campus this summer to accept the position of
Executive Vice President and Provost at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
Serving as Campus Dean of UW-Fond du Lac
since July of 2002, Dr. Blankenship is also a
tenured professor of biology within the UW
Colleges. He led the campus during a time of increasing
enrollments, expansion of
bachelor’s degree
completion programs and creation of the new
FastTrack program of accelerated blended courses
for adult students.
Plans are still being finalized at this time
for the search for a new campus dean and the
appointment of an interim campus dean.

UW-Fond du Lac Foundation will
be hosting a
40th anniversary celebration
dinner on Wednesday, April 22 in
the University Center Commons.
The cost is $40 per person. This

UW-Fond du Lac alumna Mai Yeng Ziong along with
Nhia Neng Ziong, president of the Fond du Lac
Hmong community, were part of a dedication event
welcoming a Hmong story cloth to the campus art
collection.
The hand-stitched story cloth
represents the history of Mai's extended family
and the villages the Xiong family came from.
